Darwin's Mid Suburbs Area Plan
The Planning Commission has developed an area plan for Darwin's mid suburbs, comprising Coconut Grove, Nightcliff, Rapid Creek, Millner and parts of Ludmilla.
Similar to the Inner Suburbs, the Commission developed the Area Plan over three stages:
Stage One launched in September 2015 with the release of a discussion paper and a first round of up front community consultation during October.
Stage Two commenced in February 2016 when the Planning Commission released the Draft Mid Suburbs Area Plan and corresponding Needs Assessment documentation for a further five week period of consultation.
Stage Three the final stage of the project, commenced in April 2016. The Planning Commission recommended the Area Plan and associated documents to the Minister for Lands and Planning for exhibition as a proposed amendment to the Northern Territory Planning Scheme.
The Planning Commission would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the development of the Area Plan, including those who attended our information stalls and briefings and those who took the time to provide valuable feedback through submissions.
